World Toy Camera Day, October 25, 2003 (plus one)

Back alley doorway with fire escape Lamppost shadow on a city wall. Green wall from a back alley behind the Skellig, a bar on Moody St., Waltham, Massachusetts. Brick firestation on Moody St. with crosswalk. Railroad crossing with the Usher Building in background, West Medford square, Medford, Massachusetts.

At Toycamera.com, this past October 25th was declared the first annual World Toy Camera Day. Members/participants were to take their plastic wonders out and take photographs, and then submit a scan of their favourite. The submissions would be posted in the Toycamera.com forum; viewers and participants would then vote for their favourite, and the winner would receive a modified Holga from Holgammods.com loaded up with all the options. I took my son to school that Saturday morning, and then drove to nearby Moody St. in Waltham, Massachusetts in mid-morning, and took a handful of shots. But I didn’t finish the roll that morning, and basically just failed to make the submission deadline. If I had, I would have submitted the fourth shot below (the firehouse). I'm looking forward to submitting next year.

These exposures were made on Kodak Portra 400VC. (Click images for a larger view.)
